Hudson-based Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft eliminated 103 jobs Thursday, according to the Akron Beacon Journal .

ABJ reported Jo-Ann Stores said the move was part of a ‘strategic reorganization of its store support center’ in Hudson.

KBI announces 177 layoffs in Ohio

Kyklos Bearing International plans to permanently lay off at least 177 employees starting Nov. 30.

KBI sent notice to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Office of Workforce Development informing the agency of the job cuts, as it is required to do by law.

At least 177 union represented employees will be affected by the permanent layoffs, according to the notice which the state agency received yesterday.

US layoffs surge 43% in Sept

The number of announced layoffs by US-based companies surged in September from the previous month, driven by job cuts at Hewlett-Packard, global outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas reported Thursday.

US-headquartered companies put 58,877 jobs on the chopping block last month, up 43 percent from just more than 41,000 in August and the third highest monthly total this year.

Haggen 3,400 Layoffs will begin in November
