PNC Financial Services Group Inc. is laying off up to 621 people in North Carolina when it completes its acquisition of Raleigh-based RBC Bank USA, according to the Triangle Business Journal, a sister paper of the Pittsburgh Business Times.

The Pittsburgh-based bank issued a WARN notice notifying the North Carolina Commerce Department of the layoffs, which will occur effective March 16. The layoffs will occur at RBC facilities in Wake County and Rocky Mount.
