This morning there are new reports of a dangerous problems with a different set of Toyota Vehicles.

The Toyota Prius is now coming under investigation for problems in the braking system. There have been a number of reports where drivers could not stop their vehicles including some high profile owners.

Apple Co-founder Steve Wozniak said he was surprised several months ago when his 2010 Toyota Prius started accelerating on its own.. to as much as 97 mph.. when he used cruise control to increase the vehicle’s speed. He said he had to tap the brakes to stop the car from accelerating.

When Wozniak tried to alert Toyota Motor Corp. and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to the possible safety issue, but he grew frustrated when no one would listen.

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood on Wednesday advised drivers of Toyota vehicles recalled because of sudden acceleration problems to stop driving them.

This statement has now been revised to suggest that owners take their vehicles to their dealers for repairs.

Unfortunately at this point there are no fixes for the problem so it is unknown if the Secretary is suggesting it is ok to drive the vehicles until a fix is available.
