Today the President cut tens of billions of dollars from NASA stating that we will not return to the Moon and Private Business must now foot the cost of rocket research.

This is probably not all bad news but there is a problem here.. As we take our eyes off of the Moon which is most likely a losing proposition in the next few decades we have some very serious problems here on earth that a healthy NASA could be put to work fixing.

Every year we have problems with fires across our nation. Many fires that get well noticed are those in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas but they are not the only locations to see massive fire damage.

Something as simple as thermo-imaging satellites could be placed in a relatively low stationary orbit above California, Western States and Florida for a relatively low price.

These satellites would work on the premise of motion detection and when changes in thermal profiles changed .. indicating a fire larger then a half acre emergency crews could be sent to the area long before any forest ranger or passerby may alert them.

The payback would be almost immediate with billions saved and the lives that are also lost.

Seems pretty simple and although I have a background in Chemistry I am not a rocket scientist….

In addition those satellites could pull dual duty providing commercial joint ventures. Maybe broadband communications or a number of other uses even military.

So the moon is off for now and if America needs rockets launched they will need to be funded by private industry.

Here is a little secret people … I have two friends who are researchers on the world’s largest optical and radio telescopes… the closest inhabitable planet is over 35 thousand light years away… this means if we were to travel at the speed of light for 35 THOUSAND YEARS we would still be thousands of years away.

If we were to attempt such a trip it would take longer then human record.

We would have to build ships which could be self supporting and feed generations.

In addition to that which is an end of game … we would lose our bone density in just a matter of a few years in space.

Space Travel outside of our solar system is impossible because we could not live long enough as a species to travel the distance even at many times the speed of light or WARP NINE SCOTTY…

And the fact is even if we ran that ship on Hydrogen from water in all our Oceans we would never have enough fuel to even get started…

There are no Space Aliens… We can not travel space …. We Are Alone…

And that will be the fact until we have many many quantum leaps in our technology.. which non of us will be around to witness…

Its better to direct our efforts to stop forest fires and the devastation that comes with it.
