The day after President Obama’s first state of the union address shows no improvement in the number of new people losing jobs.
In the second week of January approximately 470,000 new job losses were reported.
This is an average that has not changed for the last six months other then a one time single week report prior to the Holiday season where retail businesses held on to and hired temporary workers.
When in a single week of 2010 twice the people lose their jobs then normally did in an average month of 2008 this is a serious problem that is not being addressed.
