In his Saturday morning radio address and while on his 8 day trip to Asia President Obama urged Congress to stop any investigation of the Fort Hood terror attack which claimed 13 lives and injured 27 more.

The President believes that investigations into how and why the event happened are targeted at his administration… “resist the temptation to turn this tragic event into the political theater.” he said.

Lawmakers, however, already have announced they want their own investigations and were frustrated with what they view as a less-than-forthcoming administration.

In the Senate, Sen. Joe Lieberman, a Connecticut independent, said his Homeland Security Committee will continue it’s investigation.

One source added “It is difficult to understand the reasoning behind stopping any investigation of an attack of this nature. Whenever an event of this type happens we must all pull together and do the work that needs to be done….. If the President believes this is a partisan attack which side is he on?”.
