Unemployment figures are in for May 2009 and as expected there is no good news to tell.

The US Department of Labor found that all Metropolitan areas in the 372 cities that they study had larger then hoped for increases in joblessness.

US Unemployment has risen by over 500,000 people each month for the first half of the year.

Some cities are reporting double digit unemployment while the hardest hit are now closing in on a 20% figure.

This at the same time when massive amounts of money is being spent to supposedly increase the number of available jobs has many wondering where the money is really going.

Over 25 investigations are underway by the US Justice Department with claims from misappropriations of funds to outright embezzlement and theft.

Baltimore, Pittsburg and Lexington have all hit area highs but also expect things to get worse.

Approximately three trillion dollars have already been spent and congress is about to implement a $1,500 to $3,000 per family tax on Electric, Fuel and Gasoline which will push more people into bankruptcy.
