Clemson University is following the trend of other educational institutions by increasing their tuition 5.5% for in State and 7.5% for out of State students in the comming academic year.

Justification by the board includes pay raises and increased benefits however with other costs students may find it difficult to come up with their extra money.

School Budgets across the board have been increasing from K-12 to community and private colleges and the reasons are not always justifiable.

It seems that we have become complacent and while the private sector is seeing cutbacks and layoffs our education system continues to grow and build war chest funds that never make it to the students.
