On what can seem as a happy note Google Inc. reported first quarter 2008 gains in profits causing an immediate buyback of its stock shooting single share prices from $449 to $547 in intraday trading Friday.
First-quarter revenue totaled $5.19 billion, up 42 percent from $3.66 billion a year ago. More than half of the revenue came from outside the United States.
