In a move that has become common place GM announced this week another round of Buy Outs offering their employees upto $140,000 to quit.

To some this might sound like a great opportunity but that $140,000 won’t last forever and remember you have to pay taxes on it. Not only that where are you going to find employment when all of the other car manufacturers and even their dealers have been laying off workers for the past few years.

The idea that for the past 25 years we have been waiting for any real offering of alternative fuel vehicles and even after 20 long years of military entanglement in the middle east we still can’t get our manufacturers to build the same hybrid cars that Japan has been offering for years.

It is time America starts complaining loudly to car makers that SUVs that use enough gas in a week to fund a large terrorist network let alone suck our pockets dry of money are not acceptable.

The technology is there it just needs to be built. Toyota who offers both hybrid cars and SUVs…. ones that run on battery power packs not the unavailable E85 or Bio-Diesel that Ford and GM offer… makes their hybrid vehicles in Japan while in the USA Toyota manufactures their standard line of gasoline guzzling SUV and Trucks.

So, even if there are companies that can make Hybrids like Toyota they don’t make them in the USA.

Well People that buy these cars and trucks for $30,000 the same price my parents paid for their 4 bedroom home in 1960 need jobs that pay enough.

You can’t afford a New SUV let alone a 1978 Ford Pinto on what Walmart or other Retail Businesses pay and as we see it this $140k Buyout is just another Sellout by American Employers.

Americas Auto Workers need to strike until American Auto Makers guarantee a REAL Hybrid Vehicle will be built in every American Factory.

If they don’t they might as well take the $140k and tell their children to get jobs at WalMart.
