Walmart the Nations leader in entertainment distribution has closed its online distribution of paid video downloads.

As Amazon is ramping up their distribution model announcing a deal with Warner Bros to distribute DRM Free files. Walmart has quietly walked away from video download services.

This model aproach seems to be the eventual future of the distribution business but for now Walmart much like its website offerings of retail merchandise has decided that internet sales are not an industry they can manage.

With over 200 billion dollars in sale it has us questioning is it the fact that they can’t make money at it or that no one can make money at it.

Heres hoping that someone will come in an pick up the slack now that Walmart has walked away.
