Staffing / Employment Agencies

Staffing Agencies are used by businesses for many reasons including but not limited to finding qualified employees and screening applicants.

For smaller companies it means that HR resources can be kept at a minimum and for larger companies it means that the initial screening is made outside the company to reduce internal influence.

The difference between a Staffing Agency and an Employment Agency can be seen in how they contract with businesses.

While one group may only find applicants the other may actually be the employer which seperates the employee from the company they are actually working for.

The new term for one company hiring an employee to work inside another is Insourcing.

Where an Outsourced job means that the job is farmed out to another company that performs some of the work for the main company an insourced job is performed most often on the premeses of the main company but the employees are not employed by the main company.

This has happended for years in the area of Security where a Security Company would assign their employees to guard another companies building but today this practice is found in some pretty surprising areas.

We will cover how to work with and for these agencies and what you should consider when taking contract or full time work through any third party business.
